It's time to face your debt
John Lennon said, “Life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans.” You had your dreams and plans for your life... graduate from school, establish your career, get married, buy your dream house, climb the corporate ladder, have a couple kids, so on and so forth.
But somehow life managed to get in the way. You had to deal with student loan payments, car payments, credit card payments, etc. And the worst part of it is that you didn’t move forward in your career quite as quickly as you’d hoped. And on the other hand your dream house turned into a money pit. And the kids arrived ahead of schedule...
Basically, reality came knocking and it brought along the burden of debt.
So now you’re drowning in debt and you are longing for a simpler times. You’ve lost hope, the ability to dream, and the reality of your situation is unbearable. No wonder you’re losing sleep and your relationships are strained.
Let me ask you this: are you feeling anxious as you read this? Did you find yourself trying to block some of the things that I mentioned above? If so, then your debt may be out of control. It is time to face your debt problems with dignity and do what is right for you.
I promise you it's not going to be easy. I know this because I've been there. But at the end it will all be worth it.
Stop fighting against the abundance you desire
Here is what you need to do to save
I knew deep down in my heart that the longer I ignored my debts, the worse the situation will become. At the same time, I didn't want to keep digging a deeper financial hole for myself, so the only way forward was to take action to resolve the problem.
It's the same with you. The longer you wait to deal with your debt, the bigger the hole is getting and the more anxious you will be.
I challenge you to imagine a life where you feel in complete control of your financial future and where you are debt free. From then on take the necessary steps to deal with it. And the truth is that most of us generally know what we need to do. But knowing something and actually doing it are two very different things.
I acknowledge that dealing with debt can be really difficult even though we all intellectually understand the process. So if you know you cannot deal with the problems yourself, I encourage you to seek out support. There are a number of services that offer confidential and independent advice. First check with the National Credit Regulator that the the debt counsellor is registered. Be prepared to tell your debt counsellor everything about your spending habits.
